Tacoma Atheists was founded in June 2008. It now has about 200 members. We work to combat prejudice against atheists, agnostics and freethinkers by educating the public about atheism, and by working to make a positive difference in our community.

WHAT WE DO
Tacoma Atheists is a group of individuals dedicated to building a strong atheist community in the Puget Sound. We strive to promote understanding and respect toward all atheists, agnostics, freethinkers and non-theists by providing information, working within our communities, opposing discrimination and promoting the separation of church and state. Above all, we advocate reason and freethought. We provide several forums in which Atheists and freethinkers can gather to share ideas and opinions, and network with like-minded individuals.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
Being a member of Tacoma Atheists means being part of a thriving non-theist community. We look forward to providing educational material, social events, outreach and advocacy for atheists and agnostics in the Puget Sound, but we can’t do it without support. Become a Supporting Member of Tacoma Atheists, and help support other Atheists in the Puget Sound. Members enjoy the following benefits:

HOW TO JOIN
Simply go to Meetup.com, register, and go to our Meetup page. At this time, there is no membership fee, but members are asked to make a small donation of $1 at each meeting to cover the costs associated with using Meetup.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Tacoma Atheists meets on the first Sunday each month in downtown Tacoma. Our monthly meetings are a great place to introduce yourself, socialize, and make new friends. In addition, Tacoma Atheists maintains a Meetup group, Twitter, Flickr, a Facebook group, and this website. Announcements on the website and in the forum keep our members and friends updated and informed about events and news.
